TOP 10 WAYS I DEAL WITH FIBRO
1. KEEP ENCOURAGED!- When you feel "down", don't let yourself stay there long. Do little things that you can find joy in. Most importantly BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL GET WELL.
2. KEEP MOVING- Stretch frequently, learn Yoga, even at home if you are not strong enough to go out to a class. Get a massage- from friends or a therapist. I have found Shiatsu the best- it's gentle.
3. EAT WELL- Keep your phosphate intake as low as you can. I'll write a seperate entry for more on that. Eat as much raw food as possible and as little processed as possible. Prepare your meals at home. Food additives cause my pain to increase.
4. DRINK WATER- Half your body weight (lbs) in oz. per day. Herbal teas-- Bancha tea esp too. Stay away from processed drinks. Detox you body!
5. CREATE A SUPPORT SYSTEM- Only allow loving supportive relationships.
6. SET BOUNDARIES- You know what you can and can't do. Assert yourself.
7. CREATE A HEALTHY HOUSE LIVING ENVIRONMENT- Choose products that don't outgas when you can. Natural household cleaning products and personal products are best. Stay away from "new" furniture and matresses- it outgases. I sleep on Organic buckwheat hull pillows.
8. GET OUTDOORS- Spend time in the sun and the outdoor air. Breath in the trees in the forest when you can.
9. EXAMINE YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM- What are you "buying" into?? Do you really believe you can get well? Let go of anything that no longer feels "right" for you. It took years to get this way-- so be kind and patient with yourself. Focus on the moment-- don't worry about the next moment. When all else fails-- JUST Breath! It will take your mind off your pain for a second or two and that's all you need sometimes for a distraction.
10. ENJOY LIFE- Find things to distract yourself. Like movies.
All of the above suggestions are rather basic, however the solutions are not complicated. Life is simple-- but not easy always.
I've chosen to heal my "condition" by chosing Fibromyalgia treatments that are more "natural" and wholistic.
I was on Amitriptyline medication for years. The doctor put me on in after I stopped nursing my first child because I couldn't sleep. I was only on a mild dose- however when I went to go off of it-- within a couple of months or so-- I noticed my muscles were getting sore. I did not have any muscle problems when I went on the medication. I feel that the medication was one of the causes of my health condition in the first place.
So I choose a Fibromyalgia treatment plan that stays away from medication.

About the Author
I am a survivor of the labels of Fibromyalgia and Myo-Fascial Pain Syndrome. I've been battling these labels for about 4 years now and am happy to say that I am now about 50% "better", over the last 1 1/2 years. I've written a few articles to share with others my experiences and how I have stayed encouraged during this challenging time.
